Japan hat bis heute weltweit den Ruf als das Land der fleissigen sich aufopfernden Anzugträger, die die ihr Leben in das Zeichen der Corporation stellen. Ein Bild das sich natürlich mit Leichtigkeit revidieren lässt, wenn man mal ein wenig näher hinschaut.

Ähnlich wie die sog. ‚deutsche Wertarbeit‘ schreiben gewisse gesellschaftliche Merkmale eben Geschichte und prägen die Wahrnehmung einer Nation auch wenn sie vielleicht längst überholt sind.

Dieser in Pixel-Art animierte Durchlauf durch die letzen einhundert Jahre Transformation in der japanischen Office-Arbeitswelt, ist nicht nur aufschlussreich, sondern auch wunderschön.

It’s been almost 100 years since the “salaryman” type of office worker first appeared in Japan back in the 1920s. As our society faces a major turning point, SmartHR decided to create a brand film to reflect upon how work styles have changed with time over the past century. We hope that by looking back on history, we inspire people to think about how they want to work going forward.
