Nur ein Buch über das Design von Ziegelsteinen
Patrick Fry hat ein Faible für Ziegelsteine, genauer gesagt für das Design von Ziegelsteinen. Deshalb gemeinsam mit der Fotografin Inge Clemente ein Buch darüber veröffentlicht.

Ich mag es wenn Leute eigentlich profane Dinge unseres Alltags zur Kunst erheben und das einfach nur dadurch tun indem sie einen Filter der Aufmerksamkeit darüber legen und diese in Szene setzten. In Anbetracht der Tatsache, dass wir die meiste Zeit des Tages von Ziegelsteinen umgeben sind, kann ich mir grad auch kaum einen profaneren Alltagsgegenstand vorstellen.
Dazu kommt der Umstand dass die Schöpfer der 155 verschiedenen Ziegelstein-Designs in dem Buch, alles andere als Designer sind und waren, sondern eher Maschinenbau-Ingenieure oder Handwerker.

Das Buch lässt sich hier für £20 bestellen und ist auf 700 Exemplare limitiert. Außerdem hat es ungefähr die gleiche Größe wie ein Ziegelstein.

The book features 155 beautifully photographed bricks, printed at actual size, accompanied by an index that states the time, place and maker of each brick. Featuring an introduction from David Kitching, a brick historian and an essay from Professor Rick Poynor.
