Jerobeam Fenderson and Hansi3D haben schon 2013 eine „Ozilloskop Band“ gegründet. Nun bringen sie eine neue EP, natürlich auf Floppy Disc.

Auf der Website zeigen sie auch wie man das selbst machen kann und welche Software man benötigt um sich eigene Musik aus Verlaufsgraphen elektrischer Spannung zu keltern.

Das Bild oben ist btw. da Cover ihres 2017 veröffentlichten Remix Albums, dass es sogar auf Vinyl gibt.

Oscilloscope Music is music that creates it’s own visuals. The same signal that goes to the speakers is also fed into an analog oscilloscope to draw glowing green lines. The left and right audio channels correlate with the horizontal and vertical axes of the image. Parametric functions are meticulously crafted to create synesthetic geometries in a lab aesthetic that is retro and futuristic at the same time. The tricky part is to create images that sound good and vice versa, which rules out most conventional methods of synthesis, mixing and mastering.
