Ryuichi Sakamoto’s lange nicht erhältliches solo Piano Album ‚BTTB‘ wird neu gepresst.

Anlässlich seines zwanzigsten Geburtstages wird es nun eine Wiederveröffentlichung auf Sakamoto’s aktuellem Hauslabel ‚Milan Records‘ geben, wie RA berichtet. Das Ganze kommt mit einem Vorwort des japanischen Bestseller Autors Haruki Murakami.

Aufgenommen wurde BTTB, das ein Akronym für ‚Back  to the Basics‘ ist, im Jahr 1998. Außerhalb Japans war das Album seit dem so gut wie nicht erhältlich. Unter anderem befindet sich der bekannte Song ‚Energy Flow‘ auf der Tracklist, den Milan auch gleich mal in der BTTB Version auf SoundCloud hochgeladen hat.

Weiterhin gibt es bereits Auszüge aus dem was Haruki Murakami über BTTB geschrieben hat:

Personal and intimate music—somebody (an anonymous somebody) sitting alone in front of the school piano early in the morning, weaving a melody, exploring harmonies. Music that gradually fills a space with high ceilings that contains the wafting presence of rain. But music that leaves gaps where necessary. Once in a while, we need music like this and this way of being…no, perhaps all the time. We need it as much as we need hot black coffee at the break of dawn and a cat napping next to us in the afternoon.

Erscheinungstermin ist der 09. September 2018 und ich drücke die Daumen, das Milan das Release nicht wieder aus produktionstechnischen Gründen verschieben wird, wie es schon bei “ASNYC” und “ASYNC Remodels” der Fall war. Irgendwann in 2019 soll übrigens dann noch eine Version (vermutlich dann “half speed mastered”) auf Doppelvinyl erscheinen. Ich greife ohnehin bei allem zu :)
