The satirical comedy of American Psycho

Wenn ich an die Verfilmung von Bret Easton Ellis „American Psycho“ denke, dann erinnere ich mich zwar an einen Thriller der seine Lacher hat aber denke in erste Linie an ein tristes, bisweilen nihilistisches (aber natürlich insgesamt großartiges) Werk. Und es stimmt: Vermutlich habe auch ich nicht immer den Witz verstanden.

American Psycho isn’t the simple, dark, clinical slasher film many assumed it was when it released back in 2000. It’s fundamentally a social satire, and a comedy. A very dark comedy.
